David - this is great, thanks so much. The questions under "tool" are particularly helpful to me right now. Ebb and flow, ebb and flow, yes.

Struggling to Keep Up with Information and Friends - the New "email" ??

I know that things have always been busy - we just keep replacing one habit or tool for another. That said, I find the volume of information online daunting to keep up with (even just my little sphere of it).

This shows up in several ways. I am behind in reading and reviewing books that I said I would read and review. I have not been posting to my blogs very often and this site has been basically ignored. I recently had to switch my aggregator from NetNewsWire to Google and I hate the Google re… Continue

We were discussing the book Influencer by Patterson, Grenny, Maxfield, McMillan and Switzler. I was intrigued by the discussion of motivation versus behavior as a way into teaching and coaching.

From my background as a manager, I'm sensitive to the argument that we must stop trying to interpret people's motives, and instead… Continue

Writing in the Academy of Management Learning & Education, Steven S. Taylor (Worcester Polytechnic) and Donna Ladkin (Cranfield U) offer a model of four unique processes underpinning arts-based management development methods.

Skills transfer: development of artistic skills… Continue
